The first game of round 2 saw us playing Oratory again, and we were to be given a tougher test than the first round. Although our boys dominated the play in the first half, it was Oratory that went ahead against the run of play. After 18 minutes the referee awarded a free kick on the edge of our 18-yard box. The award was very generous as the video showed afterwards. However, a well struck free kick evaded the wall and the goalkeeper to give Oratory the lead.

As the season is progressing, our team are developing a mental toughness and this was clearly evident in this game. Three minutes after going behind we were level. Another spell of continued pressure on the opponents goal ended with a strong shot from the edge of the area from Ejofor Nkwocha. The ball flew beyond the keeper and into the corner of the net.

Oratory provided a much tougher test in the second half and had chances to take the lead early on. A double substitution on 60 minutes helped to turn the game once again in our favour as fresh legs provided some additional energy in the side. The winning goal came with about 15 minutes remaining, after a strong run and cross by the outstanding Joseph Vella. Peter Anizoba provided the finishing touch with a close range header.

Oratory played hard to the end, but our boys held on to continue our good run of games.
